Initial Thoughts:
Every once in a while, a new cigar brand comes along and they want people to taste test their products. Today's cigar, the “Pura Vitamina” comes from such a brand – Bounty Coffee & Cigars, out of Costa Rica.
The first thing I noticed about the Pura Vitamina was its simple, straight forward logo. A close second was the cigars excellent construction. The wrapper veins were thin and well dehydrated, the cut of the foot was clean and sharp, and the cigar looks really good.
After cutting the end with my guillotine, the draw had the perfect amount of resistance. The cold draw flavors were like sawdust with just the faintest of whiffs of honey, and hay.
Upon lighting the Bounty Box Pura Vitamina, the flavors were incredibly smooth. While the cigar was quite mild, it still had nice flavors, and it was very clean on my palate.

Through the middle of the Bounty Box Pura Vitamina, the construction was almost perfect. There was a brief time where the cigar had an uneven burn due to some moisture in a stem in the wrapper leaf, but that was fairly minor.
Also, the draw was perfect, which allowed me to fully taste the flavors. And, regarding those flavors, the Pura Vitamina reminded me a lot of the Drew Estate Liga Undercrown Shade (which I really enjoy), but smoother.
Final Thoughts
Despite a minor construction issue, the overall experience with the Pura Vitamina was a good one. And, honestly, I'd really like to smoke this cigar again (that's the hallmark of a great cigar, isn't it?).
While there's not a lot of information out there about this cigar, and it comes from a small Costa Rican startup (so they might be hard to find), the Pura Vitamina from Bounty Coffee & Cigars earns a CigarScore 5.
