Cigar Review: C.L.E. Eiroa CBT Maduro Robusto

Initial Thoughts:

To be honest, I grabbed the CLE Eiroa CBT Maduro Robusto off the shelf because it looked good. Yes, even though I know better, I still judge a cigar by its cover. Besides, who wants an ugly cigar!?

On the cold draw, I tasted some of the same ginger flavors that blew me away on the CLE Prieto I reviewed. After torching the end, the Eiroa CBT Maduro punched me in the mouth with spice while delivering an amazing draw.

However, once lit, I did not taste ginger as I did with the cold draw. Additionally, the flavors, though spicy, were middle of the road and I wasn't super impressed right off the bat. This could be a wild ride!

A few minutes in and the draw was about perfect, but the burn was fairly uneven.

Through the middle of the cigar, the C.L.E. Eiroa CBT Maduro Robusto continued to be a complex spice-bomb with an uneven burn. This cigar is not for the faint of heart!

That said, the cigar has a smooth aftertaste and the hints of sweetness are quite nice.

Final Thoughts

The C.L.E. Eiroa CBT Maduro Robusto is incredibly spicy; so much so that it's a little strong even for me. The construction was mostly good and the uneven burn was consistent in its unevenness. Additionally, this cigar was a fairly short smoke, even for a robusto.

Had the CBT Maduro Robusto lasted about 20 minutes longer or cost a few dollars less, it would've scored higher. However, this was good if not potent smoke, so the C.L.E. Eiroa CBT Maduro Robusto earns a CigarScore 4.
