Cigar Review: El Septimo Flamingo Amarillo

Initial Thoughts:

Some cigars don't cost a lot. Some do. And today's cigar, the El Septimo Flamingo Amarillo costs a lot. About $asdfasfd in fact. And in this review, we're going to see if this cigar is worth your money!

There are two things you'll notice about the El Septimo Flamingo Amarillo right off the bat. First, you'll see that it's pretty small. Second, you'll notice the wonderfully shiny wrapper.

On the cold draw, the flavors were fairly light and mild, with hints of spice and cedar. After lighting the cigar, the draw was perfect and I was able to get tons of rich, billowy smoke.

Brand: El Septimo

Cut: V-Cut
Light: Torch
Price: $24.00 – Luxury Cigar Club

Wrapper: Costa Rica

Through the middle of the smoke, the El Septimo Flamingo Amarillo developed a fairly uneven burn. In fact, there were at least two times where the uneven burn required me to have to torch one side or the other to fix the burn.

Regarding the flavors, they were of over roasted coffee.

Final Thoughts

At about the 57-minute mark, the cigar became very warm started burning my fingers. And, for a $24 cigar, in my opinion, you should be able to smoke it down to a nub before it gets too hot to hold. As a result, there's about 30% of the cigar that is unsmokable.

With multiple burn issues, a shorter-than-it-should-be smoke time, and a prohibitively high price, the El Septimo Flamingo Amarillo earns a disappointing CigarScore 2.
