Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana Ligero L500

Initial Thoughts:

As soon as you pick up the La Flor Dominicana Ligero L500, or almost any LFD for that matter, you'll notice how dark and oily the wrapper is. The cigar shines and practically drips deliciousness.

After lighting the cigar, I immediately notice the bold flavors I often associate with La Flor Dominicana cigars. If you haven't eaten a decent sized meal before smoking this cigar, you should probably opt for a stick that isn't as bold as this one.

Final Thoughts:

The V-cut on the L500 was a perfect choice; I got plenty of smoke and the draw was smooth and perfect. The cigar stayed cool and the burn was even throughout the smoke. There aren't any sweet flavors in the La Flor Dominicana Ligero L500; instead, you find notes of pepper and leather. The aroma did have hints of creamy vanilla, but I never could taste them.

The La Flor Dominicana Ligero L500 is a good cigar that's well made, but, for the price, I think I'd rather smoke something else. For that reason, I give the L500 a CigarScore 2.
