Initial Thoughts
The Room 101 12th Anniversary is a cigar we've been looking forward to smoking and reviewing for a while. So, when the toro showed up in the Adventure Club, we jumped at the chance to review it.
The Room 101 12th Anniversary Toro I reviewed was a pretty good-looking cigar. The dark brown wrapper leaf was well pressed and smooth, though a thick vein showed up on the back side of the cigar and the lip where it was cut caught my finger.
Before lighting it, I thought the cigar had a leafy aroma. On the cold draw, the notes were more like potpourri with some mild funkiness. Once lit, the first puff was incredibly spicy.
With such a spicy start, is the Room 101 12th Anniversary Toro too much? Let's see how long we can last, and find out if it's worth over $12.

Final Thoughts
During the first 5 minutes with the Room 101 12th Anniversary Toro, spiciness overwhelmed my palate. Also, the first two-thirds of this cigar were quite delicious. However, in the final third, I didn't like the flavors as much. Where the first part of the cigar had a sweetness to it, the final 20 minutes were characterized by woody and leafy flavors. I would have preferred that the sweeter flavors had been there the entire cigar.
Overall, the construction of this cigar was excellent. My cigar had a great draw, a fantastic burn, and each puff delivered tons of smoke.
I enjoyed the 80 minutes I had with this complex cigar, and while I preferred the first two-thirds to the final third, I liked the flavors. The Room 101 12th Anniversary Toro earns a CigarScore 5.
