Cigar Review: Serino Royale 20th Anniversary Maduro XX Sublime

Initial Thoughts:

Matt at 2 Guys Smoke Shop in Nashua, New Hampshire introduced me to the Serino Royale 20th Anniversary.  At first glance, the dark, maduro wrapper is almost perfect – not too oily, not dry. It's also very well made; the veins have been stripped out and the cigar is almost a perfectly smooth tube.

The 20th Anniversary Maduro XX Sublime burns almost completely even and the draw is very easy without feeling like the cigar is under-filled. The flavors are very smooth with hints of both cream and a little spice.

Final Thoughts:

The Serino Royale 20th Anniversary Maduro XX Sublime is one of the reasons I love trying new cigars and writing reviews. I don't know that I would have ever picked up this stick had it not been recommended.

After smoking the first third of the cigar, the flavors got even better than before. New, sweeter flavors arrived, and I was pleasantly surprised. The final third of the cigar brought some interesting flavors that were mildly bitter. Not like the bitterness you'd find at the very end of a cigar that's been smoked, and not so bad that they really detracted from the cigar, but they were noticeable.

The Serino Royale 20th Anniversary Maduro XX Sublime is a good cigar, but I didn't like it as much as some of the other cigars I've had. Because I would smoke it again, but because I didn't love it, this cigar gets a CigarScore of 4.
