Cigar Review: Black Works Studio Killer Bee Maduro

Initial Thoughts:

Oveja Negra Brands is a company who makes both the Black Works Studio cigars and the Black Label Trading Co cigars. And today, I'm reviewing the Black Works Studio Killer Bee Maduro.

I picked up the Killer Bee because it looks cool! This cigar has what looks like 5 caps, each a different leaf color (and probably type) to give the cigar a layered look like the body of a bee. The dark, Ecuadorian Maduro wrapper appears oily and delicious.

After punching through all of the caps, the draw was perfect, and after torching the closed foot, I could immediately tell that the flavors were going to be very bold, like overroasted coffee.

Final Thoughts:

I was very impressed with the Black Works Studio Killer Bee Maduro. The flavors were good, the construction of the cigar was almost perfect, the draw was also great. However, for almost $8 per stick, I think this boutique stick is a little on the expensive side.

Overall, I wish the Killer Bee had more complexity, more sweetness, and a slightly lower price point. For these reasons, the Black Works Studio Killer Bee Maduro earns a CigarScore 4.
