Cigar Review: J. London Gold Series Toro

Initial Thoughts:

While we have reviewed J. London Cigars in the past, today we're reviewing a vitola we've never smoked before. For today's review, we're going to take a look at the J. London Gold Series Toro, a $26 cigar we received in March from Luxury Cigar Club.

Will it be worth the high price? Let's find out!

The J. London Gold Series Toro looks like a great cigar. And, while drinking my morning coffee, I thought it would pair well, so I grabbed it for a review.

After cutting the cigar, the cold draw was basically perfect. If anything, it might be too loose. Toasting the foot, the aroma of the smoke was like a creamy, baked dessert. This could get very interesting.

Through the first half of the cigar, the J. London Gold Series Toro smoked incredibly fast. Within 30 minutes I'd already passed the halfway point.

Final Thoughts

Well, the good news is that I got to smoke the J. London Gold Series Toro down to the nub. The bad news is that the cigar went out with about an inch left, and I had to intervene with my torch.

The really bad news is that this $22 cigar, which, at this vitola should last well over an hour and a half, lasted only a mere 69 minutes. Oh, and the flavors in the final third really fell off and weren't nearly as delicious as they were in the first two-thirds.

While I wish this cigar had burned better and smoked longer, overall this was a really great experience. So, the J. London Gold Series Toro earns a CigarScore 4.
