According to Fratello, the Pocahontas was blended to celebrate the rich tobacco history of Virginia. Tobacco was Colonial Virginia’s cash crop, fueling its growth and leaving an indelible mark on American history. This release for Fratello conveys the story of John Rolfe, his wife Pocahontas, the Powhatan people, and Virginia, binding the state’s legacy to a leaf that changed the world.
Initial Thoughts
The Fratello Pocahontas is a limited edition cigar, featured in the Adventure Club, and features a smooth Ecuadorian Habano wrapper leaf.
On the cold draw, there was almost no resistance. It was like a straw. However, the flavors of the cold draw were of wood. Once lit, the flavors were okay; I was not super impressed on the first puff. After just a couple of minutes, I began to change my mind.
Is the Fratello Pocahontas worthy of its storied namesake? Let’s smoke it and find out.

Final Thoughts
Even though this cigar was a tribute to Virginia’s history of tobacco, I don’t think there was any Virginian tobacco in the Fratello Pocahontas.
I was able to slow down and smoke the Fratello Pocahontas robusto for an hour and forty-three minutes. The super-loose draw I had at the beginning tightened up, and I must’ve also slowed down.
I enjoyed this cigar. The Pocahontas has a lot of strength, but it’s just the right amount, and it doesn’t get bitter or overwhelm. The Fratello Pocahontas earns a CigarScore 5.
