Cigar Review: La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Firecracker

Initial Thoughts:

I'm not gonna lie, when I had the chance to smoke a three-inch, double ligero, limited edition cigar, I got excited. It's been a while since my last La Flor Dominicana, but I remember them fondly.

The La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Firecracker is a short cigar with a long pigtail that wraps under the label and down the wrapper. It starts off bold and smooth, and I'm already enjoying it. This 3 x 50 cigar is dense and well made. The wrapper is slightly oily, and the draw is easy and smooth.

Final Thoughts:

For the money, I'd prefer one of these cigars under $10 that I think are better. The La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Firecracker is a good cigar, but it's almost too small to smoke. Within minutes of lighting up, the ash has reached the wrapper, and not long after that, you're done.

The Firecracker is pretty bold, the draw is easy, and the burn is consistent. This cigar is obviously well made. However, the flavors weren't as rich or as complex as I'd normally expect from a La Flor Dominicana cigar. Because of the short duration and the unimpressive flavors, I give the La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero Firecracker a CigarScore 3.
