Cigar Review: M.X.S. Adrian Gonzalez El Titan Toro

Initial Thoughts:

One of the best things about cigar subscription clubs is that you never know when you'll get a new favorite cigar in the mail. And today's cigar, the M.X.S. Adrian Gonzalez El Titan Toro, could just be one such cigar.

Visually, the cigar looks great. The wrapper looks very thin, well-marbled, and a little toothy. The label looks sharp with very clean lines and reminds me of something out of the Micallef factory.

After cutting the end, the M.X.S. Adrian Gonzalez El Titan Toro had a great draw and the cold draw offered flavors that were sort of like candy. Odd. Once the cigar was lit, the flavors became a little “funky” and sour.

A few minutes into the cigar, the flavors continued to be funky, and very unlike what I'd expect from a Mexican San Andres wrapper.

Final Thoughts

After smoking the mildly funky and sour M.X.S. Adrian Gonzalez El Titan Toro for right at an hour and a half, I can say that this is a well-constructed cigar that has a lot going for it. But, I didn't love the flavors.

While “there's nothing to complain about” isn't exactly a raving review, this cigar isn't bad at all. I didn't love the flavors, but that's really the only thing keeping the El Titan from getting our highest rating. Had the flavors been more mature, less funky and sour, this cigar could've been great.

However, the well-constructed but weird-tasting M.X.S. Adrian Gonzalez El Titan Toro earns a CigarScore 4.
