Cigar Review: Perdomo 30th Anniversary Connecticut Robusto

Initial Thoughts

It's not every day that Perdomo releases a new cigar. And it's especially rare that they celebrate their anniversary with a new blend. But today, we're smoking their latest cigar, the Perdomo 30th Anniversary Connecticut Robusto, mean to celebrate their 30 years of making great cigars.

Despite the immaculately intricate label, the 30th Anniversary looks almost identical to the Perdomo 20th Anniversary Connecticut. However, this newest blend features a 15-year-old bourbon barrel-aged Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper.

Once lit, the Perdomo 30th Anniversary Connecticut Robusto slapped me right in the nose with an incredible aroma that was sweet and caramelly. The flavors were of honey and oak.

Is the Perdomo 30th Anniversary Connecticut a worthy successor to 20th Anniversary? Is it worth almost 15% more? Does the 15 year old wrapper make that much of a difference?

Final Thoughts

I was able to smoke the Perdomo 30th Anniversary Connecticut Robusto for right at an hour and a half, and I enjoyed every puff. One of the most interesting aspects about this cigar was one of my favorites. Woven into this really good cigar is a thread of honey sweetness that pops up every once in a while and really delights the palate.

The 90 minutes I spent with this cigar were excellent, even if they were bolder than I'd expected. I think this is another fantastic smoke from Perdomo, so the Perdomo 30th Anniversary Connecticut Robusto earns a CigarScore 5.
