Cigar Review: Plasencia Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro Eduardo I

Initial Thoughts

Plasencia not only grows some of the best tobacco in the world, but they make one of my favorite cigars, too. The Plasencia Alma Fuerte is an amazing cigar, and today's cigar adds a twist. Instead of a Nicaraguan wrapper from Jalapa, Plasencia swapped it out for a Colorado Claro wrapper (also from Jalapa).

The Plasencia Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro is a great-looking cigar with a wrapper leaf just a touch lighter than middle. The cigar itself has a slight box-press to it, and it looks almost flawless.

On the cold draw, the Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro offered up flavors that reminded me of Christmas spices. Once lit however, the flavors were doughy and sweet.

Just based on the first few puffs, the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro Eduardo I is really fantastic. But, with price increases, this cigar is almost $26. Is it worth it? Let's find out.

Final Thoughts

There is so much to like about the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro. The draw was perfect. The construction was perfect. The amount of smoke I was able to get on each puff… perfect. This cigar is definitely worth the $22 I paid (at the time) for it.

I just didn't love all of the flavors.

And even though the flavors weren't, to me, as good as the original Alma Fuerte, this cigar was a home run. The Plasencia Alma Fuerte Colorado Claro Eduardo I earns a well-deserved CigarScore 5.
