The Punch Golden Era Robusto falls into a weird space in the Punch lineup of cigars. It’s not part of their older, more classic, line of cigars, and it’s not one of the limited run cigars they’ve been making lately. The Golden Era seems to be a new line that might be around a while. Let’s see what they’ve come up with.
Initial Thoughts
Like on it’s more classic blends, the label on the Punch Golden Era Robusto was fairly simple. The Honduran Corojo wrapper is medium brown, and the cigar looks good.
On the cold draw, the Golden Era is quite woody. Once lit, the aroma of the smoke was deliciously bready. On the first few puffs there were hints of sweetness, but also something a little paper-baggy. With tobaccos sourced from the Eiroa farm in Honduras, each Golden Era cigar holds the promise of something spicy. A few minutes in and the flavors evolved into something delicious.
Will the Punch Golden Era Robusto prove itself good enough to cost $11? Let’s find out.

Final Thoughts
The Punch Golden Era Robusto is a decent cigar best enjoyed with caution. It didn’t pair well with my coffee, despite it being medium-bodied. I would smoke this cigar again, I just would drink something different.
There was a crack in the wrapper leaf that was a result of the cigar swelling due to heat. The label worked like a tourniquet and kept the cigar from popping like a balloon. However, the cigar still had a good draw and smoke output.
At a smoke time of 72 minutes for $11, the Golden Era is a decent value for the money. The cracked wrapper keeps this one from getting a perfect score, but the Punch Golden Era Robusto earns a CigarScore 4.
