Cigar Review: Rocky Patel Twentieth Anniversary Toro

Initial Thoughts:

As you might have figured out by now, I'm a fan of Rocky Patel's cigars. They're generally well made and full of flavor, and the Rocky Patel Twentieth Anniversary Natural Toro is no exception. After having some bad luck with the RP Aged, Limited and Rare, I decided “no big deal” and lit up the 20th.

The Rocky Patel Twentieth Anniversary immediately tasted good. While the burn was slightly uneven, the draw was easy, and I got plenty of flavors in each puff. The wrapper is somewhat dry but still beautifully shiny.

Final Thoughts:

Parts of the Rocky Patel Twentieth Anniversary had good taste, other parts had great tastes. However, the flavors weren't consistent, and they especially weren't consistently great. The cigar was plagued by a bad burn, but the draw was always easy. Toward the beginning of the final third, I got hints of roasted butterscotch that were phenomenal, though short-lived.

Because an $11 cigar shouldn't have such issues and nothing really made me want to have this cigar again, the Rocky Patel Twentieth Anniversary earns a CigarScore of 2.
