Initial Thoughts:
The first few puffs were full of mild flavor. After letting the cigar rest for a few minutes after lighting, I didn't taste any ashy flavors or anything negative. However, when punching the cigar, the cap and wrapper cracked about an inch down; not sure if it's poor construction or poor humidification, but I don't think the humidity was too low.
CigarScore:
Brand: AJ Fernandez
Line: Hoyo La Amistad
Size: 6 1/2 x 52
Cut: Punch
Light: Torch
Price: $9
Final Thoughts:
About halfway through the cigar, the flavors started to taste more like ash, and the ash on the end turned black and brown instead of a light gray.
I'd smoke it again, but I'll keep trying new things. Finally, with about three inches left, the cigar acted like it didn't want to stay lit and IÂ had to relight – weird.
If I could smoke just the 1st half of this cigar, I'd give it a 4, but since I don't like wasting money, the Hoyo La Amistad by AJ Fernandez earns a solid CigarScore of 3.
