Cigar Review: Pinar Del Rio Oscuro Liga Cubana No 2

Initial Thoughts:

In the past, I've not been a huge fan of PDR Cigars. They've failed to impress me, and I generally look for other cigars to smoke. However, when a viewer on YouTube sent me the Pinar Del Rio Oscuro Liga Cubana No 2 to review, I was grateful for the opportunity.

Visually, the Pinar Del Rio (aka PDR) Oscuro Liga Cubana No 2, looks pretty good. It's a long, thin lancero with a pigtail cap. The aroma of the cigar is leafy.

Once the end was cut, the draw was incredibly loose. ON the cold draw, the flavors were grassy and the cigar almost tasted like sawdust.

However, once lit, the cigar tasted leafy and leathery but didn't taste half bad, and I got plenty of smoke on the first few puffs.

A few minutes in, and the draw was quite loose and the flavors were a little harsh and a little sour.

Through the middle of the cigar, things began to go downhill regarding the review. After only about 20 minutes, I'd smoked almost halfway through the cigar. Also, the burn wasn't great; the wrapper burned slower than the binders and fillers, so I had to retorch the outside to fix things. The cigar was also very hot to the touch, hotter than expected.

Final Thoughts

After smoking the Pinar Del Rio Oscuro Liga Cubana No 2 for a shockingly short 38 minutes, I was left with a lot of thoughts and opinions.

First off, the draw was too loose. It was almost like sucking on a Sonic milkshake straw. Had there been more filler tobacco, the draw would've been a little tighter, and the smoke time longer.

Second, the burn was not great. For most of the cigar, the wrapper burned slower than the interior, so I had to keep relighting it.

Third, the aroma of the smoke was a little like a combination of butane, charcoal, smoke, and some leftover meat burning off from the last time you used your grill.

Finally, the flavors were… okay. However, the flavors weren't like the aroma, but they were still only just okay.

There were several things wrong with this cigar on top of a fairly low value for the dollar. Additionally, for just a little bit more money, these are great cigars under $10 So, the Pinar Del Rio Oscuro Liga Cubana No 2 earns a CigarScore 2.
