Blind Cigar Review: League of Fat Bastards Serie O Corona

Today we continue our series of blind cigar reviews, where our goal is to provide you with a totally objective, completely neutral review of a cigar. The Serie O is the second blend from League of Fat Bastards cigars. This time around, LOFB went with a Mexican San Andres wrapper leaf that brings a sweeter and more robust flavor to these cigars. Made by Joya de Nicaragua, 40% of the proceeds from this cigar also go toward combatting issues of men’s mental health. League of Fat Bastards was founded on the idea of creating a way for men to hash out their issues together around the communal act of enjoying a good cigar. (Source)

Initial Thoughts

Oscuro means dark. So, when the blenders at League of Fat Bastard Cigars decided to make a darker, more robust cigar than their Serie L initial offering, they made the League of Fat Bastards Serie O, a cigar wrapped with a dark Mexican San Andres Negro Oscuro leaf.

The Serie O is a dark cigar with a somewhat dry wrapper. Though the Mexican leaf was shiny, it didn’t seem to be very oily, despite it’s darkness. It also had some nice texture to it. On the cold draw, the flavors were leafy and woody.

Upon lighting the Serie O, the first aroma of the smoke was very nice. On the first puff, the flavors were spicy, sweet, and somewhat familiar.

Final Thoughts

I was able to smoke the League of Fat Bastards Serie O corona for almost an hour and a half. That’s a pretty good smoke time for this size of cigar.

While I didn’t love the flavors of the Serie O, they were very good. I tasted spice and leather. Regarding the construction of this cigar, it was about perfect. Each puff delivered tons of billowy smoke, and I could fully taste everything this cigar had to offer. My only complaint regarding the construction would be that the corona got quite warm toward the end.

Overall, I enjoyed this cigar and would smoke it again. It delivered some nice tobacco flavors that were very welcomed. The League of Fat Bastards Serie O Corona earned a CigarScore 5.
