Today we continue our series of blind cigar reviews, where our goal is to provide you with a totally objective, completely neutral review of a cigar. Ellory went into this review completely blind; that means without knowing what it is, who made it, how much it costs, or what’s in it. To see the entire series of blind cigar reviews, click here.
Initial Thoughts
The Oscar Valladares Santiago Valladares is a USA Exclusive cigar that came to us from Honduras via the Adventure Club.
The dark, Ecuadorian Habano wrapper leaf is visually perfect, and has a nice, oily sheen to it. At the foot, a couple of stems were quite prominent, and my hope was that this didn’t cause a less-than-perfect draw.
Once lit, the Oscar Valladares Santiago Valladares was pleasant. It wasn’t bad. There wasn’t anything special or unique about it, but the tobacco flavors were nice. A few minutes in and the draw was slightly tighter than I would’ve liked.

Final Thoughts
I was able to smoke the Oscar Valladares Santiago Valladares for almost an hour and a half, and I struggled with a tight draw for most of it. Additionally, in the final third, the cigar went out on me and had an uneven burn, and I had to relight it.
This blend, despite the dark, Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, is much milder than the color of the cigar would lead you to believe. I also didn’t love the flavors, which were very light on the palate.
I think this cigar is pretty expensive for the experience you get. This one isn’t for me, so the Oscar Valladares Santiago Valladares earns a CigarScore 3.
