Initial Thoughts:
When the community asks, we try to deliver! So, when one Nicholas asked me to review the ADVentura The Explorer Corona Gorda we got from CigarClub.com, how could we say no?

The ADVentura The Explorer Corona Gorda is a great looking cigar. However, after pulling it out of the cellophane, the cigar felt either too humid or a little under-filled – we'll have to smoke it and find out. After punching the cigar, the cold draw was perfect with flavors that were tangy, like grass or cedar.
After toasting the foot and lighting The Explorer, I was greeted with plenty of smoke and an amazing draw that let me fully taste what the cigar had to offer. That said, there's something very familiar about this cigar. Let's see if I can figure it out.
CigarScore:
Brand: ADVentura
Line: The Explorer
Size: 5 3/4 x 46
Cut: Punch
Light: Torch
Price: $11.95 – CigarClub.com
Wrapper: Mexican Cuban-seed Habano
Binder: Ecuadorian Sumatra
Filler: Dominican Republic, Ecuador
Smoke Time: 80 minutes
Through the middle of the cigar, the flavors from the Mexican Cuban-seed Habano are very present. There is a lot of spice in this cigar, plus flavors of cedar and leather. The burn is still mostly even, but the perfect draw has tightened up. On either the retrohale or the after taste of the cigar is when you can taste the creaminess from the Dominican filler tobacco.
Final Thoughts:
If you like the signature style and flavor profile of Caldwell Cigars, you're going to also like The Explorer line of cigars from Adventura, who also makes cigars for Caldwell. If you've identified the secret sauce that Caldwell uses, you'll definitely notice it in this stick too.
That said, the ADVentura The Explorer Corona Gorda I smoked had perfect construction. The draw was mostly great, and the flavors were complex with both spiciness and creaminess. However, at around $12, The Explorer might be a little on the expensive side.
Great construction. Great flavors (if you like Caldwell's blends). Decent price point. The ADVentura The Explorer Corona Gorda earns a CigarScore 5.
