Cigar Review: Aganorsa Leaf La Validacion Maduro Gran Robusto

Most cigar companies talk about their love for their cigars. Very few talk about their love for their tobacco. Aganorsa Leaf falls in the later category, and their motto is “Our Leaf is Our Strength.” When you put your love of the leaf at the forefront of your brand, your cigars gotta be good, right?

Initial Thoughts

The Aganorsa Leaf La Validacion Maduro Gran Robusto BP is a nice-looking little cigar. It does have a slight box press to it, but it’s barely noticeable. Visually, the La Validacion Maduro looks good. The Mexican San Andres Maduro wrapper is marbled and oily with veins that are well pressed.

With a V-Cut, the draw was a little tight. Once lit, the aroma of the smoke was like smoke. The first puff was very spicy, as is common with Aganorsa’s cigars. While I was expecting some sweetness, both from the San Andres leaf and the maduro maturation process, I got nothing. The La Validacion Maduro is all spice.

Final Thoughts

After smoking a few of these cigars, I wish the Aganorsa Leaf La Validacion Maduro was one I liked more. Objectively, these are good cigars, they’re just not what I’m looking for regarding flavor.

The construction of the cigar I reviewed was good, but not perfect. The draw was a little tight, and the burn was just a tad uneven.

The La Validacion Maduro is a middle of the road Aganorsa Leaf cigar. They’ve made better, and they’ve made worse. The complexity on this blend isn’t quite pleasing as, say, the Aganorsa Leaf Signature Maduro. The Aganorsa Leaf La Validacion Maduro Gran Robusto BP earns a CigarScore 4.
