Today we're going to dive into the AJ Fernandez San Lotano The Bull Robusto, and with a name like “The Bull,” I expect this cigar to be bold.
Immediately after removing the cigar from its cellophane, I noticed a nice texture to the wrapper leaf. While it wasn't oily, it did feel very nice. Visually, the AJ Fernandez San Lotano The Bull Robusto looks pretty good, and the cigar looked to have a slight box-press to it. There were almost no visual flaws, so we moved on.
Before I lit the cigar, it smelled pretty good, and the cold draw had lots of cedar in it, so I was optimistic.
Once the San Lotano Bull was lit, the aroma of the smoke was bold, with notes of leather and earth.
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Sumatra
Smoke Time: 60 minutes
Through the middle of the cigar, the construction remained solid. The draw was good, the burn was mostly even, and I could fully taste the San Lotano Bull on each puff.
Regarding the flavors, this cigar was quite bold, but with hints of something lighter, too. I also continued to taste leather and some milder spices on the tip of my tongue.
Overall, the AJ Fernandez San Lotano The Bull Robusto is pretty good. I enjoyed the flavors, the construction was great, and the price point is spot on.
And, while some of the flavors could've suited me better, the value and overall quality were really great. So, the AJ Fernandez San Lotano The Bull Robusto earns a CigarScore 5.
