Cigar Review: Byron 19th Century Poemas

Initial Thoughts

Every day with a cigar is a good day, especially when you get to smoke a cigar like the Byron 19th Century Poemas.

This $27 cigar is beautiful. The Ecuadorian (Habano would be my guess) wrapper is medium brown with a wonderfully oily sheen.

However, as I examined this cigar, I found what might have been a spot of mold on the foot. Perhaps foolishly, I smoked it anyway.

Regarding the aroma of the cigar, it was rich and decadent. The cold draw was filled with cedar, and the draw itself was a little tight. Once lit, my nose was thrilled with the amazing smells that emanated from this super-premium cigar.

In the first few minutes, the Byron 19th Century Poemas got off to a rough start. Was it worth $27? Let's find out.

Through the middle of the Byron 19th Century Poemas, I was thoroughly impressed. While I don't normally go for $25+ cigars, the flavors in this cigar were incredibly well-blended, nuanced, rich, and delicious.

Final Thoughts

Even after an impressive smoke duration of 92 minutes, the Byron 19th Century Poemas continued to deliver good smoke output and great flavors. Two truly incredible feets for a cigar that's less than 5″ long.

While it's possible not every cigar in this line is as good as this one, I doubt it. The flavors were wonderful and the construction was basically perfect.

The hype is real, and the Byron 19th Century Poemas earned a CigarScore 5 and is one of my favorite cigars of the year.
