Cigar Review: Caldwell Long Live the King Mad MF

Initial Thoughts

It's not every day that you read the blend of a cigar and think, “wow, that sounds amazing!” But today is such a day, and the Caldwell Long Live the King Mad MOFO is such a cigar.

The Caldwell Long Live the King Mad MF (aka MOFO, aka go look it up), is a fantastic-looking cigar with a cool AF (better look that one up, too) logo. The LLtK Mad MF has an oily wrapper with a pigtail tip. There was a slightly squishy spot behind the label, so we'll see how or if it affects the smoking experience.

With a quick cut from my guillotine, the cold draw was about perfect. Toasting the tip, I got some amazing aromas.

The first tastes of the Mad Mofo were of the expected Caldwell funky/hoppy-ness, sweetness, and wood.

Is the Caldwell Long Live the King Mad MF worth almost $13? Let's smoke it and find out.

Final Thoughts

While I don't like all Caldwell cigars, I do like the Long Live the King Mad MF. Other than the uneven burn in the first third, which fixed itself, the construction of the cigar I reviewed was fantastic.

My favorite thing about this LLtK Mad MOFO was the flavors. This cigar does a great job of highlighting the sweetness and subtle spiciness of the Mexican San Andres wrapper.

I enjoyed this cigar quite a bit. It's well constructed and comes in at a fair, not great, price point. The Caldwell Long Live the King Mad MF earns a CigarScore 5.
