Cigar Review: Caldwell Malditos Bastardos Churchill

Initial Thoughts:

Not all cigars are created equal. And, the last time I smoked a Caldwell cigar in their Lost & Found series, I thought it sucked. So, when Luxury Cigar Club sent me another cigar from the same line, I wasn't too excited.

However, I've smoked enough cigars to know that sometimes you get a lemon. And, I've learned that my expectations aren't always what become reality. So, with today's cigar, the Caldwell Malditos Bastardos Churchill, I hope I'm proven wrong, and that this cigar is an awesome experience.

Let's dive in!

Visually, the Caldwell Malditos Bastardos Churchill is a decent looking cigar. It also smells pretty good. However, as soon as I cut the end of the cigar, I was greeted with a stem that was almost as big around as my punch.

With all that said, the true test of a cigar comes after it has been torched. And, this cigar, right out of the gate, tastes pretty good.

Final Thoughts

Despite not having the Caldwell name or brand anywhere on the cigar, the Lost & Found Malditos Bastardos Churchill is a classic Caldwell cigar. If you've smoked and enjoyed other Caldwell cigars in the past, you're likely to enjoy this Malditos Bastardos as well.

My main complaint about this cigar was the number of burn issues I experienced. The burn was uneven for most of the cigar, and I did have to torch it again on one side to even things up. But, in the second half, most issues never crept up again.

Regarding the flavors, the stem never caused much of an issue, and the draw was good enough so that I could fully taste the spiciness of the cigar.
