Initial Thoughts:
You know, some cigar names are easy to say, like Padron or RoMaCraft. Others, like today's cigar from Casdagli, are extremely difficult. However, a cigars' name typically has little bearing on its flavors. So, today, we're going to dive right into the Casdagli Villa Casdagli Pigasus.
Right off the bat, one of the first things I noticed about the Casdagli Villa Casdagli Pigasus was its aroma. It smelled like manure. Sorry, I mean it smelled earthy and like fertilizer.
Visually the cigar looks good. It's got great color tones, an oily-looking wrapper, and a closed foot with a tiny crack in it.
Giving the end a cut, even with a closed foot, I felt like a good draw was in my future. The cold draw had lots of cedar notes to it as well.
However, once lit, the Casdagli Villa Casdagli Pigasus had a tight draw, and there were some hard spots that could prove to be the culprits. That said, the flavors weren't bad. Things could get interesting.
CigarScore:

Brand: Casdagli
Line: Villa Casdagli
Size: 5 x 54/58
Cut: Guillotine
Light: Torch
Price: $16.00 – Luxury Cigar Club
Wrapper: Ecuador
Binder: Ecuador
Filler: Ecuador, Nicaragua, Peru, Dominican Republic
Smoke Time: 70 minutes
Through the first 20-or-so minutes, the draw was still tight. To remedy that, I cut the cigar again, this time at a slight angle. However, the draw issues were only temporarily relieved, and I started to struggle once again.
Despite the tight draw, the overall construction does appear to be good. The flavors had a slight chemical-ish taste to them, even though they were aged an “extra 4 months.” There were also flavors that tasted a little sour, and a little of citrus.
Final Thoughts
After smoking the Casdagli Villa Casdagli Pigasus for right at 70 minutes, I had two main complaints. First, I wish the draw had been more open. For the entire cigar, I wanted the Pigasus to open up and give me more. Second, I didn't love the flavors that were somewhat sweet, a little woody, and sour citrusy.
But if I were to look at this cigar objectively and remove my flavor preferences from the equation, this isn't a bad cigar. So, the Casdagli Villa Casdagli Pigasus earns a CigarScore 4.
