Initial Thoughts
There are a lot of really great cigars out in the world from tons of both new and established brands. But now that Cohiba is owned by a giant conglomerate called General Cigar, can they be trusted to still make great cigars?
Today we're going to review the Cohiba Black Robusto Crystal Tubo and see if it can hold up against smaller, more nimble (and creative?) boutique cigar manufacturers. Let's dive in…
The Cohiba Black Robusto Crystal Tubo was a great-looking cigar. It had a nice, dark, and oily wrapper with a pretty gnarly stem on the side about half way down. Other than that, the Cohiba Black was beautiful right out of the glass tube.
Lighting up, the Cohiba Black brought the strength, and I was slapped in the face by bold Connecticut Broadleaf tobacco.
Is the Cohiba Black Robusto Crystal Tubo worth $23? Let's find out.

Through the first half of the Cohiba Black Robusto Crystal Tubo, I experience a few burn issues. The cigar burned unevenly, but I didn't have to re-light it.
Also, the draw was disappointing and tighter than it should've been, and I didn't get as much smoke per puff as I like.
The flavors remained bold and consistent.
Final Thoughts
The Cohiba Black Robusto Crystal Tubo is a cigar dominated by the Connecticut Broadleaf. Whether it's the one on the wrapper or the one used for the binder, I don't know, but this cigar puts the United States Connecticut Broadleaf on full display.
For me, this cigar was a little stronger than I'd like. I also think it's a little expensive for the types of flavors and the lack of complexity that you get. So, the Cohiba Black Robusto Crystal Tubo earns another CigarScore 4.
