Cigar Review: Crowned Heads CHC Serie E 5150 Robusto

Initial Thoughts:

Today we continue our series of blind cigar reviews, where our goal is to provide you with a totally objective, completely neutral review of a cigar. One of the first things I noticed about the Crowned Heads CHC Serie E 5150 Robusto was its well-marbled wrapper. Woven through the Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper leaf, there is a variety of colors that hint at a very complex cigar.

Once I'd lit the Crowned Heads CHC Serie E, I smelled something hoppy and tangy, almost like beer. Giving the cigar a puff, the draw was nice, and I could get plenty of smoke that blasted my sinuses on the initial retrohale.

Regarding the flavors, there somewhat like the char on barbeque. And, maybe, hints of vanilla.

Through the middle of the cigar, I was still able to get a good draw with plenty of smoke. There were almost no sweet flavors, and any hints of vanilla disappeared. There was something a little sour as well, but not in a bad way. Also, leather.

Final Thoughts

While I didn't love the flavors on this cigar, the Crowned Heads CHC Serie E 5150 Robusto will be great for somebody, just not me.

The burn was mostly even for most of the cigar. The draw was great and the cigar offered up plenty of flavorful smoke. However, there wasn't a lot of complexity in this stick. The flavors remained the same through the entire smoke and rarely deviated from the char, leather, and semi-sourness.

However, the Crowned Heads CHC Serie E 5150 Robusto was fairly consistent and the flavors would be great for somebody. The Crowned Heads CHC Serie E 5150 Robusto earns a CigarScore 5.
