Cigar Review: Davidoff Dominicana 2014 Toro

Initial Thoughts

Davidoff's cigars are known as being some of the most premium in the world. Their team of growers and experts selects the top 3% of seeds to grow some of the finest tobacco in the world.

Or, so they say. The Davidoff Dominicana Toro we're looking at today is $25. It's got mostly Dominican tobacco in it but with an Ecuadorian Binder.

The Davidoff Dominicana Toro looks good. Perfect in fact. The peach-fuzzy Dominican wrapper is beautifully pressed and the veins are well dehydrated.

But, it's $25. Is the Davidoff Dominicana 2014 Toro worth your hard-earned money? Let's smoke it and find out.

Through the middle of the cigar, the Davidoff Dominicana 2014 Toro had a really terrible burn. I had to even up one side due to extra moisture in the wrapper leaf. However, the flavors were quite enjoyable and were spicier than I expected.

Final Thoughts

For 85 minutes, I enjoyed the flavors of the Davidoff Dominicana 2014 Toro. For most of the cigar, the flavors of leather, spice, and sweetness were pretty good. However, toward the end, the lack of complexity left me feeling… bored.

If you're into Davidoff cigars and don't mind paying $25 for an hour and a half smoke, then you should try the Davidoff Dominicana 2014 Toro. If you're not into Davidoff's cigars, I don't think this one is the one to convince you they're worth the money.

The flavors were good, but there were some construction issues. The Davidoff Dominicana 2014 Toro earns a CigarScore 4.
