Cigar Review: Drew Estate Liga Privada Velvet Rat 2024

We're not strangers to the Liga Privada line from Drew Estate. In fact, we reviewed the Velvet Rat before, way back in 2020. But today we're giving the Drew Estate Liga Privada Unico Serie Velvet Rat from 2024 another shot.

Initial Thoughts

Like most Liga Privada cigars, the Drew Estate Liga Privada Unico Serie Velvet Rat has a dark and oily Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. Giving the cigar a whiff, the pre-light aroma was leafy and delicious.

Once lit, the Velvet rat had flavors that were quite woody. Also, the draw opened up after just a few minutes, and this cigar put out lots of great smoke.

Is the full-bodied blend in the Velvet Rat worth almost $20? Let's find out.

Final Thoughts

I'm not sure what happened with the Drew Estate Liga Privada Unico Serie Velvet Rat, but the second half smoked much slower than the first half. For that reason, this corona grande smoked for a a delicious hour and 45 minutes.

While these cigars are a tad expensive, I've been very impressed with the Velvet Rat over the last few years (my original review aside). Regardless of my past experiences, this cigar was fantastic, so the Drew Estate Liga Privada Unico Serie Velvet Rat in 2024 earns a CigarScore 5.
