Initial Thoughts:
When I saw that the E.P. Carrillo Encore Majestic had earned “Cigar of the Year” for 2018, I knew I wanted one. And, when I learned that the Encore was a Nicaraguan puro – ya, that sealed the deal.
Physically, the Encore Majestic is a decent looking cigar. It's lightly box-pressed and the foot of the cigar has a ribbon around it that makes the cigar look like it's wearing a medal.

Final Thoughts:
If you want to smoke the best cigar of 2018, this ain't it. Despite what Cigar Aficionado had to say, there are other cigars in this price range, from this country, and with these flavor profiles, that are better than the E.P. Carrillo Encore Majestic.
The first half of the cigar had a terribly uneven burn. Even after lighting the side that was burning slowly, the bad burn returned. Because this cigar was mostly underwhelming and because I think there are better cigars out there for the same price, I have to give the E.P. Carrillo Encore Majestic a (low) CigarScore of 3.
