Cigar Review: Founders Roosevelt Maduro Robusto

Initial Thoughts

In the business world, there's a saying that goes like this, “It's better to be different than it is to be better.” In other words, different is better than better. And today we're smoking a cigar that's definitely different, the Founders Roosevelt Maduro Robusto. Hopefully, it's also better.

The Founders Roosevelt Maduro Robusto was a good-looking cigar. When I pulled it out of the cellophane, I was met with the aroma of wood shavings and maybe sawdust.

Once lit, the Founders Roosevelt had a very smokey aroma, but the flavors were of dark chocolate and spice.

Final Thoughts

After smoking the Founders Roosevelt Maduro Robusto for just under 70 minutes, I'd say it was “pretty good.”

In the final third, there was a burn issue, but it fixed itself. The flavors were decent and the draw was really good. My main complaint was that there was an ashy flavor in the background that I didn't care for.

Overall, the cigar was pretty good, but with room for improvement. The Founders Roosevelt Maduro Robusto earns a CigarScore 4.
