Cigar Review: Nova Cigars Platinum Perfecto

Initial Thoughts:

When I pulled the Nova Cigars Platinum Perfecto out of the June box from Luxury Cigar Club, I said to myself, “Ellory, you've got to smoke this cigar immediately!” So, spoiler alert, I did.

This cigar just looks cool. Like a torpedo missing its fins, this Platinum Perfecto looks like it's ready to launch out into the water and blow something up. The Nova Cigars Platinum Perfecto isn't very long, but it's pretty thick, so after a quick cut with my guillotine, I'm ready to smoke.

Final Thoughts:

While the Nova Cigars Platinum Perfecto is good, I couldn't quite get over the $25 price tag on this cigar. The flavors were good, the burn was good, and I had no problems with the draw.

However, the Platinum Nova only smoked for about 66 minutes – far too short for a cigar that costs more than other cigars at that price point, specifically cigars like the Plasencia Alma Fuerte I reviewed here. If this cigar were half the price and smoked for about 20 minutes longer, I'd happily recommend it. But, I can't justify the price for a cigar that's no better than their competition, even though Nova claims they're a premium brand.

Because I'd probably not smoke this one again, the Nova Cigars Platinum Perfecto gets a CigarScore of 3.
