Initial Thoughts
Plasencia makes some really wonderful cigars, and the Alma Fuerte blend is my absolute favorite. So, when my buddy David Skelton from the Texas Cigar Roadshow bought me two Plasencia Alma Fuerte Robustus 1 for my birthday, I immediately smoked one and set the other aside for today's review.
The Plasencia Alma Fuerte Robustus 1 is the smallest of the Alma Fuerte line. Though it shares the same blend as one of my all-time favorite cigars, the Alma Fuerte Generacion V Salomon, it's about half the size. However, it's not half the price.
The Plasencia Alma Fuerte Robustus 1 is a slightly box-pressed robusto. It's got an oily wrapper leaf that's practically perfect.
With a quick cut from my guillotine, the draw resistance was excellent, and the cold draw flavors were of cedar and other wood. Once lit, the Alma Fuerte Robustus 1 was sweet and leathery, with something creamy and spicy as well.
Is the 5.25 x 52 Plasencia Alma Fuerte Robustus 1 worth almost $20? Let's smoke it and find out!

Final Thoughts
After about 90 minutes, my time with the $20 Plasencia Alma Fuerte Robustus 1 came to an end. For some reason, I smoked the final third much slower than the first two-thirds, and this cigar just kept going. But even after an hour and a half, I did not want this cigar to end.
Even though I had to retouch the wrapper in the final third with a quick blast from my torch, it was nearly flawless. Oh, and it was quite delicious, too.
This cigar and this vitola was a very good cigar that's complex and well blended. It's also $20, and I did have to touch it up once. But I thoroughly love this cigar and really enjoyed this size, so the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Robustus 1 earns a CigarScore 4.
