Cigar Review: Tatuaje 10th Anniversary Capa Especial Robusto

Initial Thoughts

The Tatuaje 10th Anniversary Capa Especial Robusto was a great looking cigar with a medium brown and very oily Ecuadorian Habano wrapper leaf. The closed foot promised to offer a blast of flavor.

One thing common among Tatuaje's cigars is that their wrapper leaves have a wonderful aroma, and the 10th Anniversary's was no different. After a quick cut, the draw was good with cold draw flavors that were quite woody.

Once lit, the Tatuaje 10th Anniversary Capa Especial offered up flavors that were spicy, doughy, bready, woody and delicious, and that tingled my sinuses on the retrohale.

Final Thoughts

As far as construction goes, the Tatuaje 10th Anniversary Capa Especial Robusto I reviewed was a great cigar. The draw was great, the burn was great, and I was able to get a bountiful amount of smoke on every puff.

Regarding the flavor of the Tatuaje 10th Anniversary Capa Especial, well, that's a different story. For most of the cigar, I tasted a lingering tartness that I didn't care for at all. In the final third, any sweetness or creaminess I had been tasting completely disappeared. Because of the tartness that was almost bitter, I think people might not love this blend from Tatuaje.

While I typically don't just cigars based on my personal flavor profile preferences, I do think the tart notes were a little off-putting and that many people won't like them. So, the Tatuaje 10th Anniversary Capa Especial Robusto earns a CigarScore 4.
