Cigar Review: Warped Maestro del Tiempo

Initial Thoughts:

The first thing I noticed about today's cigar, the Warped Maestro del Tiempo, was its great aroma. Some cigars smell earthy, others like leather, but the Maestro del Tiempo smelled delicious. The Warped Maestro del Tiempo is made by Casa Fernandez, and it's chock full of Aganorsa Leaf Tobacco.

After snipping the end with my V-Cutter, the cold draw had a nice resistance to it and the cold draw flavors were of a lighter wood, maybe pine.

Once the Warped Maestro del Tiempo was torched and lit, I tasted leather and the funky sourness I've often found in Warped Cigars. Through the first few minutes, the construction was amazing, the draw was fantastic, and the burn was almost razor-sharp.

Will this funky cigar with great construction hold up under my reviewer's eyes? Let's find out!

Through the middle of the cigar, the construction was fantastic and the flavors were pretty good as well. I tasted flavors that were smooth and creamy, leather and potpourri. The sourness and funkiness that I tasted in the first third are much more muted in the middle third.

Final Thoughts

If you like other Warped Cigars, you're going to like the Maestro del Tiempo. The sour and funky flavors that I tasted at the very beginning almost disappeared completely by the end of the first third.

The burn was great and the draw was very pleasant. So, overall, the construction of this cigar was really good. Also, the flavors were pretty good as well. There was some heat that came through, and that was likely due to the Corojo '99 filler and wrapper tobaccos. In contrast, there was a buttery smoothness to the finish that was quite nice as well.

However, for almost $13, I wish the Maestro del Tiempo had lasted a little bit longer. But, smoke time for the dollar is a value decision only you can make. I like this cigar and would smoke it again, so the Warped Maestro del Tiempo earns a CigarScore 5.
