Cigar Review: La Gloria Cubana Serie R Esteli No. 64

Initial Thoughts:

This is a big cigar that takes a few seconds to get completely lit. The La Gloria Cubana Serie R Esteli is in line with other cigars I've smoked from LGC in that the flavors are there, but they're a little harsh and unrefined. LGC doesn't seem to have the smooth style of other cigars, but that's their way of doing things. The V cut provided a smooth draw that started cool and remained cool through the entire smoke.

Final Thoughts:

Despite this cigar's somewhat massive size 6.25″ and a 64 ring gauge, the cigar barely lasted 90 minutes. I grabbed this stick to last me 2 hours and it didn't. I guess that smooth draw and 6 1/4″ impacted duration more than I expected.

If the Serie R Esteli had smoother flavors and lasted another 20 minutes, it would have earned a score of 4. Despite not lasting a full 2 hours, the La Gloria Cubana Serie R did stay cool down to about the last inch.

Because I'd smoke this cigar again, the La Gloria Cubana Serie R Esteli No. 64 earns a sold CigarScore of 3.
