Cigar Review: La Galera Year of the Ox 2021 Churchill

Initial Thoughts

Today we're going to take a look at the La Galera Year of the Ox 2021 Churchill, a cigar so different that, apparently, the blender had to make a new mold to shape this cigar.

One of the most fascinating things about this cigar, and one of the first things I noticed, is its label. The craftsmanship and attention to detail on the Year of the Ox's band is a true work of art.

The next thing I noticed about the La Galera Year of the Ox 2021 Churchill was the intense texture of the Mexican San Andres wrapper. The tooth on the wrapper (ie the small bumps that are pockets of oil), was like braille on the outside of this cigar.

On the cold draw, the flavors were very leafy and like sourdough bread. Once lit, the initial flavors were very sweet, but with strong hints of leafiness.

The La Galera Year of the Ox 2021 Churchill is $20. Is it worth it? Watch below to find out.

Final Thoughts

The La Galera Year of the Ox 2021 Churchill is a good cigar, but a cigar that I didn't love.

Regarding the flavors, there was a good bit of complexity. There was spiciness, sweetness, and something doughy, and the construction was fantastic. And, the draw couldn't have been better.

Despite my personal preferences regarding the flavors, this is a great cigar. The La Galera Year of the Ox 2021 Churchill earns a CigarScore 5.
