Initial Thoughts

If you were going to look up the best cigars of all time, you’d probably find the Padron 1964 Anniversary Natural Exclusivo somewhere on that list. Well, today we’re going to see if this cigar is worth the hype or if it’s one you should just skip.

With a quick cut from my Xikar XO Phantom Redwood guillotine, the Padron 1964 Natural had a great cold draw. The resistance was about perfect, and the cold notes were of cedar and maybe some other wood.

On the first puff, the flavors, surprise, tasted like a Padron cigar. They were leafy and woody but quite pleasant.

Through the middle of the Padron 1964 Anniversary Natural Exclusivo, I realized nothing tastes like a Padron. The flavors in this “limited edition” 1964 Natural taste very similar (in a good way) to the Padron Thousand Series Natural I’ve smoked before.

Aside from the flavors, the smoking experience continued to be good.

Final Thoughts

The Padron 1964 Anniversary Natural Exclusivo does two things for me. First, this 1964 Anniversary makes me want to smoke more of the less expensive Thousand Series from Padron; they’re good, and they cost less. Second, this 1964 Natural makes me curious to smoke and try the 1964 Maduro to see what it brings to the table.

That said, this cigar was really good. I experienced a great draw, a fantastic burn, and very tasty flavors. In the final third, the cigar did get a little hotter than I like to see.

In the end, smoking the Padron 1964 Anniversary Natural Exclusivo was a great experience. I’d smoke it again, so the Padron 1964 Anniversary Natural Exclusivo earns a CigarScore 5.
