Initial Thoughts

While I love smoking Connecticut Shade-wrapped Perdomo cigars with coffee, I love smoking Perdomo’s maduro cigars with a little touch of bourbon.

The Perdomo 30th Anniversary Maduro Robusto features a dark, almost black, Nicaraguan maduro wrapper. I think Perdomo has some of the best branding in the cigar industry, and the opulent 30th Anniversary label is no exception.

Once cut, the draw was about perfect. The cold draw flavors notes were floral. After lighting it, I tasted charred wood and flavors that were like the 20th Anniversary maduro but smoother. A few minutes in and the flavors were sweet and woody with really nice tobacco flavors.

Dressed in a 15 year old, Cuban seed Nicaraguan maduro wrapper, this robusto demands a price of almost $14. Is it worth it? Let’s smoke it and find out.

Final Thoughts

Whereas the Perdomo 20th Anniversary demands to be smoked with a bit of bourbon, the Perdomo 30th Anniversary Maduro is fine without it. I don’t know if it’s the 15 year old wrapper leaf or something else about the cigar, but the 30th Anniversary blend is smoother and less harsh than its predecessor.

The Perdomo 30th Anniversary Maduro Robusto I smoked had perfect construction. The draw, burn, and smoke output were great. The smoke time of nearly 75 minutes was pretty good for a cigar of this size.
