In several reviews over the past six years, we've talked about different a cigar can taste from one vitola to another. Also in the past, we've done reviews of the Foundation Tabernacle Toro and Tabernacle Lancero, two vitolas I didn't love. But when I tried the Tabernacle Havana Seed CT #142 as a corona (which alters the wrapper leaf), I dang near fell in love. So, today, we're giving the original blend a third chance and lighting up the Foundation The Tabernacle Corona.
Initial Thoughts
Whereas the Havana Seed CT blend has a reddish hue, the Foundation The Tabernacle Corona is dark brown, almost black in color.
After a quick cut, the OG Tabernacle offered up notes of cedar and spice on the cold draw. Once lit, the Connecticut Broadleaf was in my face. Compared to the Havana Seed CT (which is spicier and sweeter), the OG Tabernacle has less spice, but more strength, and doesn't seem to be quite as complex.

Final Thoughts
I was able to smoke the rich, flavorful, broadleaf-forward Foundation The Tabernacle Corona for almost 75 minutes. When it comes to this specific vitola, I don't like this original blend as much as I loved the Tabernacle Havana Seed CT #142 as a corona, but this is still a great cigar.
This cigar had almost perfect construction. The flavors were bold and enjoyable. On every puff I was able to get bountiful smoke that allowed me to fully taste the four-country blend. The Foundation The Tabernacle Corona earns a CigarScore 5.
