Cigar Review: Rodriguez Series 84 Maduro Torpedo

Initial Thoughts:

Rodriguez Cigars isn't a brand I'm all too familiar with, but when I saw the Series 84 Maduro Torpedo in my subscription box from CigarClub.com, I was pretty excited to smoke it.

As soon as I freed the cigar from the cellophane, I could immediately smell something amazing. The aroma of the Rodriguez Series 84 Maduro Torpedo was of leather and rich tobacco, and I was immediately impressed.

After cutting the torpedo end, the draw was perfect. The flavors of the cold draw were reminiscent of whiskey or bourbon. And, after torching the end, the smell of the smoke was quite fantastic. Before I have even tasted the cigar, my hopes are high!

Final Thoughts:

I found the Rodriguez Series 84 Maduro Torpedo to be a very pleasant surprise. Other than the crack in the wrapper, this cigar had great construction. Regarding the flavors, I was also surprised at how well this cigar pairs with coffee, after every puff, I could really taste the chocolate notes in my Pinon Coffee.

My main complaint about this cigar is that it didn't last long enough. You should be able to enjoy a cigar of this size for about 90 minutes, but this cigar only lasted for about 60. I wish I'd been able to smoke it for longer. A great cigar with wonderful flavors and an enjoyable experience, the Rodriguez Series 84 Maduro Torpedo earns a CigarScore 5.
